Sri Lanka defeated India 36-0 in their opening match in the ARFU Women’s Asian Rugby Sevens Series being held in Balewadi Sports Complex, Pune, India.
Ayesha Perera (3 tries), Randika Kumudumali and Thanuja Weerakkodi scored tries for the winners.
In the mean time Sri Lanka Men’s sevens team which is participating in the final leg of Asian Sevens Series in Singapore, also beat Indonesia in their first match 43-0 with Jason Dissanayake (x2), Sandun Herath (x2), Saliya Kumara, Lavanga Perera, Sudarshana Muthuthanthri scoring tries.
