Sri Lanka defeated Hong Kong 46-32 to clinch 3rd Place in the Asian Youth Netball Championship 2023 at the Jeonju Hwasan Gymnasium in South Korea.
After suffering a heavy 77-36 defeat in the semi-final, Sri Lanka needed to win the 3rd place play-off to secure a place in the Netball World Youth Cup next year. It was a tight 1st quarter which was won by Hong Kong 10-11. However, Sri Lanka upped their game in the 2nd quarter (11-06) and went into the break 21-17 with a 4-point lead.

Sri Lanka managed to win the 3rd quarter too 13-10 and extend the lead to 7 points. 4th quarter was once again dominated by Sri Lanka winning 12-05 and securing the win by 14 points.
For Sri Lanka, Bhashi Udagedara scored 29 points from 30 attempts (97%), and Dilmi Wijenayake added 17 from 23 (74%). Sri Lanka had an overall shooting percentage of 87% while Hong Kong scored 32 points from 41 shots at 78% shooting.
