Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) secretary Mohan de Silva has resigned from his board position on Saturday (04th November), citing personal and health reasons.

De Silva’s resignation came after widespread criticism of the Sri Lanka Cricket Board following Sri Lanka’s exit from the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup due to poor performance, and the Sports Minister’s request for Executive Committee members of SLC to resign from their positions.
De Silva, however, has cited in his resignation letter that he resigns from the position due to personal and health reasons. “After thoughtful consideration, I have concluded that stepping down will be beneficial for both the board and myself, ensuring that the board’s activities are not adversely affected by my current constraints,” De Silva had mentioned in his resignation letter.

It is reported that De Silva is currently in Australia seeking medical help.
