After a continuous circus of controversy, Sri Lanka’s tour Manager Charith Senanayake who was said to be the mastermind behind the twist of Kumar Sangakkara captaining instead of Mahela Jayawardena to avoid missing out an important world cup outing has been suspended Sri Lanka Cricket reports.
While many a media insinuated that he had been sacked, he queried very publicly if he was ‘sacked’ or ‘relieved of duties’
In this light, Sri Lanka Cricket officially informs that a decision was taken last evening to suspend Mr Charith Senanayake from service with immediate effect without remuneration, pending an inquiry into 3 charges against him. This decision was conveyed to him this morning and the suspension letter couriered to his residence.
It has also been rumoured that Michael De Soysa will take his place.
