The 4th day of the Mercantile Services Basketball Association Knockout tournament unfolded today as CDB Finance took on Sri Lankan Airlines “B” while the second match that was set to be played between Dialog Axiata “B” v MAS Holdings “C” was postponed due to adverse weather conditions.
CDB Finance secured an easy win against the air-liners leading the game from the maiden quarter. Stepping into half time with a double digit lead, it was all scripted the CDB Finance way after the ten-minute break. Half time scores read, 28-16.
Supun Lakmal top scored for CDB Finance with 21 points while Lelana Jayasundara played a supporting role, piling up 15 points. Dakshika Wijesinghe added another 10 points to secure a merciless win for CDB. For Sri Lankan Airlines Don Ramanayake, Maleesha Tilakaratane and Sampath Kirige, all scored 10 points each.
