Sri Lanka Basketball Federation (SLBF) will tip-off 2020 with the continuation of the 52nd Senior Nationals Tournament. The second and third level matches of the tournament are scheduled to commence on the 24th of January 2020.
The 52nd Senior Nationals is the 2019 edition of the tournament series which consists of three levels; I, II and III. In 2019, SLBF only managed to organize and conclude the first level of the tournament. The second and third levels were not played due to multiple reasons, including the security situation of the country.

The remaining second and third levels are scheduled to be played in the last two weeks of January. Level II matches will be played in both men`s and women`s categories while the third level will only be played in the men`s level.

The first level matches concluded in early February last year with the Mercantile Services Basketball Association (MSBA) clinching both the men’s and women’s titles. Colombo District BA won the runners-up title in the men`s category while Sri Lanka Army SC won the runners-up title in the women`s category.
