Yet another challenging overseas assignment for the Islanders. FIBA 3X3 Asia cup 2022, will kick off in Central Singapore starting from Wednesday 6th of July 2022 to Sunday 10th of July 2022.
According to the 3×3 planet, 53 different countries will be featured in this years’ tournament, and both Lankan Women’s and Men’s teams have been qualified to participate in the Asia cup 2022. The qualifying draws for men and women will be played in the first two days of the tournament, and will teams who are qualified will battle towards supremacy.

As per the 3×3 Planet, the squad has been picked. However, SLBF has not officially announced the squad yet. According to reliable resources, the squad may be changed.
Unsurprisingly, the much-experienced duo Anjalee Ekanayake & Benika Thalagala along with Lubna Morseth and Nihari Perera will be representing Sri Lanka Women’s team.
Men’s team will feature one of the core players in SL basketball, Pawan Gamage, Channuka Fernando, Nimesh Fernando & Dasun Nilantha Mendis.
