Sri Lanka Air Force unveils international standard Golf Course in Sigiriya

The Eagles Citadel Golf Course which was built to international standards was inaugurated at Sigiriya Air Force Base yesterday (17th January).  

The opening ceremony was graced by Defence Secretary Retired Air Vice Marshal Sampath Thuyacontha and held under the chairmanship of Air Force Commander Air Marshal Udeni Rajapaksa. 

This state-of-the-art Golf Course is situated in the iconic Sigiriya region which is a renowned tourist destination for both domestic and international tourists.  

Eagles’ Citadel Golf Course has been meticulously designed with the purpose of boosting tourism in Sri Lanka.  

The Golf Course includes features such as Island T and Island Bay which have been introduced to enrich the experience for visitors and players alike.  

Eagles’ Citadel Golf Course is the fourth international-standard facility built by the Sri Lanka Air Force. They have previously built similar facilities at Trincomalee, Anuradhapura and Koggala. 

Newly built Eagles’ Citadel Golf Course is a big step in promoting Sri Lanka as a premier destination for recreational sports tourism and also contributes to the economic growth in the island.
