Having been asked to bat first, Sri Lanka ‘A’ posted 264 runs on the board with the middle-order batter Sahan Arachchige top scoring with a knock of 78 runs off 96 balls with 5 fours.

The opening batter Lahiru Udara and No. 9 batter Tharindu Rathnayake also chipped in with crucial knocks of 32 and 35 respectively.

Thomas Mayes and Liam McCarthy stood out with the ball for Ireland ‘A’ claiming 3 wickets each.
In reply, Ireland ‘A’ were dismissed for 219 runs, handing a 45-run victory for the islanders. The wrist-spinner Dushan Hemantha and ambidextrous spinner Tharindu Rathnayake starred with the ball for Sri Lanka ‘A’, scalping 4 wickets each.
