South Africa ‘A’ managed to take upper hand against Sri Lanka ‘A’ on Day 1 of the first unofficial Test commenced today (8th September) at Kimberley.
Having won the toss, South Africa opted to bat first and posted a commanding total on Day 1. Matthew Breetzke was the top-scorer for the hosts as he made unbeaten 112 runs while Marques Ackerman and Tshepang Dithole contributed with vital half-centuries.

The speedster Eshan Malinga was the pick of the bowlers for Sri Lanka as he scalped 2 wickets for 49 runs while Chamika Gunasekara and Nishan Peiris grabbed a wicket each.
