Vishwa Fernando claims four-fer despite Pakistan ‘A’ takes first innings lead

The second day of the first unofficial Test between Sri Lanka ‘A’ and Pakistan ‘A’ worked off today (12th November) at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.  

The hosts resumed their first innings on Day 2 at 66/2 and went onto post 258 runs before the Tea break. Hussain Talat (56) and Rohail Nazir (55) struck fine half-centuries for Pakistan ‘A’. 

The left-arm seamer Vishwa Fernando was the pick of the bowlers for the visitors as he grabbed 4 wickets for 44 runs. Fernando’s partners in the pace attack – Isitha Wijesundara and Nisala Tharaka also snared 2 wickets each.  

Sri Lanka ‘A’ began their second innings 143 runs behind and added 77 runs for 1 wicket before the close of play on Day 2. Ahan Wickramasinghe (48*) and Nipun Dhananjaya (23*) who added 77 runs for the second wicket, remained unbeaten at the crease.
