The 1st unofficial Test between the Sri Lanka A team and the visiting Bangladesh A team which was supposed to be held at the Marians Cricket Ground, Katunayake, was abandoned by the match officials due to inclement weather.

The 1st day of the contest was washed out yesterday without a ball being bowled and the story was the same on the second day too. The persistent rain didn’t even let the players have a practice session and after lunch on day 02, match umpires Rohitha Kottahachchi and Deepal Gunawardene decided to end the wait and announce the match abandoned.

The series includes 2 unofficial Test matches and the 2nd of them will begin on 30th September at Galle International Stadium.
