Steve Smith has been ruled out of the remainder of the T20I series against Sri Lanka with a concussion. According to Cricket Australia, Smith will be subjected to low level protocols for the next few days with a full recovery expected in 6-7 days.
Smith sustained the injury to his head while trying to save a six in the final over of a thrilling chase. He put in a full length dive as he tried to stop a hit from Maheesh Theekshana close to the midwicket boundary rope. But he landed on his head and his foot also touched the ropes, with the resultant six and a four off the last ball helping Sri Lanka to force the game into the Super Over.
