SLC T20 League to begin later this month

Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) announced the launch of the SLC T20 League, which will run from 21st August to 02nd September in Media Release today.   

Colombo, Dambulla, Galle and Kandy – the names used by the 4 teams which contested in the recently concluded SLC Super Provincial 4-Day and One-Day Tournaments, will be the teams for this T20 League as well.

Each team will play 6 games in the first round, facing each other twice. The top two teams in the points table will play in the Final on the 2nd of September. All the Nationally contracted players, contracted Domestic players and promising U19 players are set to take part in the tournament.

Premadasa Internaional Stadium, Pallekale International Stadium and Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium will host the 13 matches of this tournament with the final being held in Colombo.

Colombo will take on Galle in the curtain-raiser in Colombo to kick-start the 13-day tournament. This tournament will also help SLC secure the window they had already reserved for the much anticipated Lankan Premiere League, which will unfortunately not take place this year.
