Day two of this week’s Super Eight Championship matches in the SLC Major League Tier ‘A’ Tournament was worked off today, 21st August 2020. Chathuranga de Silva gave NCC an absolute chance of ending at the top of the table with a cracking 159 runs.

NCC, who is currently at second position in the league, played the tournament-decider with CCC at P. Sara Oval. Following the heroics of their run-machine this season, Lahiru Udara, at the top of the order, the Chathuranga de Silva saga put them well ahead with 467 runs on board. CCC too was in a comfortable position with 210 runs on board for the loss of 3 wickets. CCC skipper, Kusal Mendis, was at the crease on 73.
Rumesh Buddika gave the Chilaw Marians a huge boost with a classy 145 runs. The Marians made 399 for 9 at close of play, replying the 302 runs made by Colts CC.
Collective efforts from the Ragama batsmen put them past the 500-run mark. All-rounder Janith Liyanage top-scored with an unbeaten 107, while Saminda Fernando (92), Roshen Silva (80), Binura Fernando (62) and Nishan Madushka (56) contributed with half-centuries. In reply, Army were struggling at 93 for 6.

Raminda Wijesooriya’s hundred fueled BRC to post 392 runs for the first-innings against Saracens SC. Following a crisis at the top of the order, Saracens were tottering at 191 for 5 by stumps.
