How life has changed due to COVID-19 – a letter from a first-class cricketer
I am writing this letter on the day (15/04/2020) I was supposed to fly out to the United Kingdom for a summer of cricket, but as we are all well aware the deadly Coronavirus has brought the world almost to a standstill, including sports.
SLC President Shammi Silva said to Lankadeepa, “If IPL is called off, BCCI and the stakeholders of IPL will have to bear a loss more than $500 Million. So, it will be beneficial for them to conduct the league in another country like they did in 2009 in South Africa”

“If we get the nod from BCCI to this proposal, we (SLC) are ready to provide all the facilities needed for BCCI under the supervision of health authorities of Sri Lanka. Undoubtedly, it will bring more cashflow to the country and SLC” he further added.
SLC is yet to receive a response from BCCI.
