Six matches of the Sri Lanka Cricket Premier League Tier A tournament were worked off around the island today (6).

CCC vs Saracens

Malinda Pushpakumara – left out from Sri Lanka’s last Test tour of New Zealand – produced remarkable figures of 10/37 in the Saracens 2nd innings, as he became only the second Sri Lankan to pick up 10 wickets in an innings in a first class match.

Former Sri Lanka fast bowler Pramodaya Wickramasinghe was the only man to achieve the unique feat, before Pushpakumara destroyed Saracens today.

Saracens who were set 349 to win, crashed to just 113 all-out with Pushpakumara producing a spell to remember.

Earlier in the day, Ron Chandraguptha’s 93 helped CCC post 279/5 declared to set Saracens a challenging total on a surface helping the spinners.

Ragama CC vs Tamil Union

Centuries from Tharanga Paranavithana and Sachithra Serasinghe helped Tamil Union to a morale boosting first innings win as they went past Ragama CC’s first innings score of 433.

Former Sri Lanka cap Paranavithana went on to hit 184 while Serasinghe made 152 as Tamil Union made 544/8 declared.

Prasanna Jayamanne’s unbeaten 73* was the highlight for Negombo CC in their encounter against Badureliya which began today.

Dilasri Lokubandara also made a half century while Buddhika Sanjeewa picked up 3 wickets for Badureliya.

Irosh Samarasuriya’s century helped Moors make a spirited comeback against Army SC, but the soldiers held their nerve to record a five wicket outright win.

Samarasuriya’s knock helped Moors make 280 all-out in their second innings while spinner Dushan Vimukthi and Danusika Bandara picked up five wickets apiece.

Dilshan Soyza’s unbeaten 41* then guided Army SC in a tricky run chase as they reached 171/5 in their 53rd over.

SSC recorded a thrilling 34 run outright victory against BRC as spinner Sachithra Senanayake and Tharindu Ratnayake shared 9 wickets between them.

After Kaushal Silva’s brave 79 set BRC 221 for an outright win, the SSC spinners took control of the match picking up wickets at regular intervals.
