While the game between Ragama CC and NCC in the SLC Premier League tier A ended in a draw today (3rd February), Lankan CC took on Baduraliya SC in another game at Surrey Village in Maggona.
NCC vs Ragama CC
Ragama CC resuming day three on 269/3 in their first innings, fell short of the NCC first innings score of 552 all-out by 91 runs at the NCC ground in Colombo.
Sri Lanka Test discard Roshen Silva who made a superb 139 in his comeback from injury, fell off the last ball on day two after a 254 run stand with another Sri Lankan discarded Test cap Udara Jayasundara, who fell early on day three to open the floodgates for Ragama CC. Jayasundara too made a superb century on his comeback to first class cricket in Sri Lanka.
Ragama CC never recovered from their early set back but young wicket-keeper batsman Nishan Madushka hailing from Moratuwa, fought a lone battle, as he remained unbeaten on 74*.
A win for Army, a miss for CCC and more TONS
Chathuranga de Silva toiled hard all day with his left-arm tweakers for NCC, before yielding figures of 6/144 in 42.5 overs on a tough surface to bowl, while also having to work out how to bowl with the recently introduced SG cricket ball. Chamika Karunaratne also gave him valiant support as he captured two crucial wickets during vital stages of the game.
NCC secured crucial points from the game while ending day three on 121/3 in just 15.5 overs, with Pathum Nissanka and Angelo Perera making unbeaten half centuries.
Lahiru Udara was the star of the game with his marathon knock of an unbeaten 290* which helped NCC amass 552 in just 101.4 overs in their first innings.

Lankan CC vs Baduraliya CC
Lankan CC reached 299/8 on the opening day of their encounter against Baduraliya SC, as they batted out the 90 overs with Damitha Silva and Chanaka Ruwansiri making half centuries.
Geeth Kumara (40) and Kasun Abeyratne (30) also got starts, but failed to convert them into substantial scores as the game ended in the balance when stumps were drawn.
TM Sampath bowled decently for Baduraliya, capturing 2/52, but it was Lahiru Samarakoon who continued his golden run of form as he captured four wickets in a tidy spell of fast bowling.
