The group stage of the Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) Major T20 concluded today, with CCC, Army, Colts, Tamil Union, NCC, Ragama, Badureliya and Moors progressing to the knockout stage.

Air Force SC missed out on a quarter-final berth by a whisker after registering three consecutive wins to end the tournament on a high. The airmen restricted Ports Authority to 99 all-out, before Roscoe Thattil guided the run chase with an unbeaten 43*.

Ruvindu Gunasekara’s golden run in the tournament continued as another dominant all-round performance from him made sure Saracens registered a 34 run win on Duckworth Lewis against Panadura SC. He made an unbeaten 81* with the bat before capturing two wickets with the ball.

Lahiru Thirimanne’s composed unbeaten 45* guided Ragama CC to a crucial win over Police SC and booked their place in the quarterfinals. Another impressive bowling effort from Kushan Weerakkody (3/38) who has 12 wickets in the tournament so far, helped reduce Police to 133 all-out before Thirimanne led the run chase.
