Sachira Weliwatta and Randunu Ganganath struck brilliant centuries to put Burgher Recreation Club on top in their encounter against Tamil Union Cricket & Athletic Club.
Weliwatte scored 108 runs off 203 balls with 13 fours while Ganganath hit unbeaten 101 runs off 259 balls with 8 fours and a six as BRC posted a solid total – 297/4 on the board at the end of first day’s play.
Sukitha Manoj of Colts Cricket Club was the other centurion of the day as he accumulated 124 runs off 213 balls with 8 fours and 5 sixes against Sinhalese Sports Club.
Dinuka Thennakoon of Kurunegala Youth Cricket Club was the best bowler on show today as he claimed 5 wickets for 79 runs against Moors Sports Club.
