Nondescripts Cricket Club and Bloomfield Cricket & Athletic Club qualified for the final of SLC Major Clubs T20 Tournament 2024.
The first semi-final encounter between NCC and BRC ended in no result today due to persistent rain at P. Sara Oval Grounds, Colombo.
After being put into bat first, BRC posted 61/1 in 6.2 overs before the heavens opened up, calling off the game. However, NCC managed to seal their place in the final as they won on the spin of the coin.
Bloomfield C & AC qualified for the final of the tournament as they beat Moors SC by 4 wickets in the second semi-final encounter played today at the same venue.
Due to the rain, the game was shortened to an 8-over contest. After being put into bat first, Moors SC posted 70/9 in the allotted 8 overs. Sahan Nanayakkara stood out with the ball for Bloomfield, claiming 4 wickets for 13 runs.
Bloomfield C & AC chased down the target in the last over of the match with 4 wickets in hand, as Lahiru Madushanka played a blinder of an innings – 26 off 12 with a four and 2 sixes at a strike rate of 216.66.
