Nondescripts Cricket Club, Moors Sports Club and Burgher Recreation Club managed to qualify for the Semi Finals of the SLC Major Clubs T20 Tournament 2024.

Nondescripts Cricket Club edged past Colts Cricket Club in the rain-affected first Quarter Final encounter, which ended today at SSC Grounds, Colombo.

Yashodha Lanka’s blistering half-century at the top of the order helped Colts CC post a solid total – 170/9 on the board. Lanka hit 77 runs off 45 balls with 6 fours and 6 sixes at a strike rate of 171.11.

In reply, NCC had posted 140/6 in 15.3 overs before the rain interrupted the proceedings at SSC. As per the DLS calculations, NCC were 11 runs ahead of the revised target.

Chamika Karunaratne’s fireworks with the bat down the order helped NCC seal the victory. Karunaratne smashed an unbeaten 48 runs off 31 balls with 2 fours and 4 sixes at a strike rate of 154.83.

The second Quarter Final encounter between Bloomfield Cricket & Athletic Club and Colombo Cricket Club was abandoned due to rain at P. Sara Oval Grounds, Colombo.

Moors Sports Club registered a convincing win over Ace Capital Cricket Club in the third Quarter Final encounter worked off today at P. Sara Oval Grounds, Colombo.

After been put into bat first, Ace Capital CC were restricted for just 111/9 in the allotted 20 overs. Dinuka Dilshan was the pick of the bowlers for Moors SC as he bagged 3 wickets for 6 runs in his 4-over spell.

Moors SC chased down the target of 112 runs quite convincingly, losing only 4 wickets. The Skipper Ramesh Mendis and Pasindu Sooriyabandara scored 32 runs each to anchor the run-chase.

Burgher Recreation Club registered a thrilling win over Tamil Union Cricket & Athletic Club in the fourth Quarter Final encounter played today at SSC Grounds, Colombo.

Due to the rain, the game was shortened to an 8-over contest. After been put into bat first, BRC posted 66 runs for 5 wickets in the allotted 8 overs. In reply, Tamil Union C & AC posted 64 runs for 8 wickets, falling 2 runs short of the opposition’s score.
