Six matches of the SLC Major Clubs T20 Tournament were played today (31st May) at several venues across the island.

Nondescripts Cricket Club (NCC) registered a convincing win over Sri Lanka Air Force SC at P. Sara Oval Grounds, Colombo.

After being put into bat first, Air Force SC was restricted to just 111/8 in the allotted 20 overs. Asel Sigera was the standout performer with the ball for NCC as he bagged 3 scalps for 11 runs.

NCC cruised to the target quite comprehensively in the 13th over with 7 wickets in hand. Kavin Bandara played a match-winning knock of 51 runs off 34 balls with 5 fours and 2 sixes.

Asela Gunaratne’s magnificent knock helped Army SC pull off a sensational run-chase against Police SC at Maggona.

Chasing a 143-run target set by Police SC, Army SC lost 4 top order wickets inside the first ten overs but Gunaratne produced a counter-attacking knock of 81 runs off 59 balls with 10 fours and a six to put his side over the line in the last over of the innings.

Colombo Cricket Club (CCC) eased to a 5-wicket win over Burgher Recreation Club (BRC) in a low-scoring encounter worked off today at SSC Grounds.

A collective bowling effort led by Sandun Mendis (3/21), Vishwa Fernando (2/15) and Nuwan Thushara (2/15) helped CCC restrict BRC to mere 74 runs which they chased down convincingly in the 9th over losing only 5 wickets.
