The Sebastianites Cricket & Athletic Club qualified for the Final of the SLC Major Clubs 50 Over Tournament 2023/24 as they beat Badureliya Cricket Club by 10 wickets in the Semi Final encounter worked off today (13th January) at NCC Grounds, Colombo.
The Sebastianites Cricket & Athletic Club’s Skipper Promod Maduwantha won the toss and opted to field first, and the decision turned out to be gold as they managed to knock over Badureliya Cricket Club for just 108 runs.
Charith Rajapaksa, Tharindu Rathnayake and Isitha Wijesundara excelled with the ball, claiming 2 wickets each for Sebastianites C & AC.
It was a walk-in-the-park victory for Sebastianites C & AC as they chased down the target without losing any wickets. The opening batters Navindu Vithanage and Thulina Dilshan shared an unbeaten century stand as the victorious Sebastianites C & AC cruised to the target in 22.3 overs.
Vithanage and Dilshan were very impressive with the bat as both of them managed to cross the 50-run milestone. The second Semi Final encounter between SSC and Colts CC will be held tomorrow (14th January) at the same venue. The winner of this encounter will meet Sebastianites C & AC in the Final of the tournament, which will be played on the 16th January at SSC Grounds.
