The ambidextrous spinner Tharindu Rathnayake scalped a 9-wicket haul helping Tamil Union Cricket & Athletic Club take first innings honors against Burgher Recreation Club.
Rathnayake picked up 9 wickets for 65 runs to restrict BRC for 202 runs. Tamil Union C & AC posted 224 runs for their first innings. In their second innings, they posted 259 runs and managed to take 281-run lead going into the final day.

The veteran left-arm spinner Malinda Pushpakumara was the star performer with the ball for BRC as he picked up a match bag of 11 wickets.

Dhananjaya Lakshan and Muditha Lakshan also struck fine centuries helping Colts Cricket Club post a massive total – 506/6 on the board against Ragama Cricket Club. Dhananjaya made 150 runs off 196 balls with 11 fours and 5 sixes while Muditha hit 117 runs off 131 balls with 8 fours and 6 sixes.
Meanwhile, Pawantha Weerasinghe and Shehan Jayasuriya also impressed with the bat scoring centuries for Ace Capital Cricket Club and Chilaw Marians Cricket Club respectively.
