The Final of the SLC Major Clubs 3-Day Tournament 2023 between Sinhalese Sports Club and Police Sports Club ended today (11th December) at NCC Grounds in Colombo. Since the game ended in no result due to rain, both teams were declared as joint Champions.

The fourth day’s play was supposed to get underway today after two consecutive washed out days at NCC Grounds, but that was not to be the case as wet ground conditions called off the fourth and final day, going by the trend in last couple of days.

Match officials declared the Finalists – SSC and Police SC – as joint Champions. SSC opening batter Avishka Fernando, who stroked 107 runs off 137 balls with 9 fours and 3 sixes, was named as the Player of the Final.
Ravindu Fernando of Tamil Union C & AC, who amassed 686 runs in 9 matches at 57.16 while scalping 31 wickets with the ball, was adjudged Player of the Tournament.

NCC batter Lahiru Udara, who accumulated 828 runs in 10 matches at 55.20, won the Best Batter award, while the veteran left-arm spinner Malinda Pushpakumara of Police Sports Club, who picked up 73 wickets in 10 matches at 16.46, won the Best Bowler award.
