The semifinals of the Major Club Youth Tournament 2020/21 which were scheduled to be played tomorrow, 07th of October, 2020 will be postponed until further notice due to the recent development in the COVID-19 pandemic situation in the island.
A press release from Sri Lanka Cricket noted that the tournament committee has taken this decision “as a precautionary measure following recommendations by the Health Authorities due to the current COVID 19 situation.”
The league stage of the tournament ended on the 04th of October with Badureliya Sports Club, Sinhalese Sports Club, Lankan Cricket Club and Colombo Colts Cricket Club qualifying for the semi-finals.

Badureliya CC was supposed to face SSC while Lankan CC was preparing to play Colts CC in the semifinals which were scheduled to be played tomorrow at the NCC and CCC grounds. The final was scheduled for the 11th of October.
With the current situation, the health ministry has prohibited any “non-essential gatherings” until further notice.
The Major Youth Tournament commenced on the 16th of September involving 26 teams.
