12 more encounters of SLC Major Club Limited Overs Tournament 2020/21 were worked off today at different venues across the island.
Kurunegala YCC who qualified for the semi-finals of the SLC Major Club T20 tournament with shocking victories against some top clubs, managed to repeat such performance today as they defeated renowned Colts Cricket Club by 5 wickets.
Gayan Maneeshan who was the top scorer of the said T20 tournament once again shone with the bat scripting the victory for Kurunegala YCC.
Meanwhile, Army CC, Panadura SC, SSC, NCC, Tamil Union and Saracens CC recorded comprehensive victories in their respective encounters. There were several significant performers with the bat in the concluded encounters today.
Krishan and Himesh shine as SSC crowned T20 Champions
Former Sri Lanka U19 opening batsman Kamil Mishara’s brilliant century for NCC was one of them. Mishara stroked an unbeaten 102 runs off 130 balls with 4 fours and 3 sixes. The hard-hitting left-handed batsman Sandun Weerakkody also played a match-winning century for Badureliya CC guiding his side to a victory against tournament favourites CCC.
Weerakkody’s knock of 121 runs came off 115 balls with 18 fours and a six. In addition to them, Damitha Silva of Lankan CC (118) and Aruna Dharmasena of Panadura SC (112*) managed to shine with the bat scoring centuries.
