Women’s Novices Final
Defending champions, Boyagama Siri Parakum SC defeated Rathanapala SC, Mahauswewa in straight sets. The two school sides met a couple of weeks back in the DSI Supersport Schools’ Volleyball Championship U17 Girls Final, Siri Parakum as Galigamuwa Central & Rathanapala SC as Sri Rathanapala MV Mahauswewa. It was the same result as Galigamuwa Central defeated Rathanapala MV 3-0.

In the semi-finals Siri Parakum SC had a comfortable 3-0 win against Omega Line. The scores read 25-15, 25-14 & 25-16. In the 2nd semi-final Rathanapala SC destroyed Black Lions SC 25-9 & 25-7.
Siri Parakum had the upper hand throughout the match and though the 1st two sets were close, they were able to win it 25-20, 25-21. Siri Parakum won the 3rd set 25-18 and with it the match.

Men’s Novices Final
The final went the distance, with SLAOC winning the final 3-2 against the Golden Tigers.
After a close battle, SLAOC won the 1st set 25-22. In the 2nd set SLAOC were leading and seemed as if they will win it comfortably. However, Golden Tigers made a furious comeback to win a thriller 25-27.

SLAOC took a 6-point lead early in the 3rd set only to see the Tigers bring it down to 3-midway through the set. SLAOC again extended it to 6 at 23-16 and won the set 25-18.
SLAOC again took a 6-2 lead in the 4th set but the Golden Tigers equaled the scores at 13-13. Tigers took the lead and never looked back as they won the set 22-25 and sent the game into a deciding 5th set.

In the 5th set both sides matched each other point for point. With the scores reading 9-9, SLAOC went on a 4-0 run to lead 13-9 and there was no come-back from the Golden Tigers as they lost 15-11.
