Three games of the Singer U19 Division 1 Cricket Tournament concluded today, 14th November as Royal College and St. Joseph’s College managed to win their games by an innings margin.
Ananda College vs. Mahinda College
The traditional fixture between Ananda and Mahinda College ended in a draw at the Galle International Cricket Stadium.
After being bowled out for 91 runs handing a 53-run lead for Ananda College, Mahinda boys couldn’t dismiss the Anandians in the 2nd innings as the visitors declared their innings at 132/5, setting a target of 185 runs to win.
Kaushika Kodithuwakku led the charge for Mahinda College in their chase with a fine fifty but couldn’t reach the target in the remaining overs as they were 136/6 at stumps.

Kalhara’s 6-fer & Mishara’s ton assert dominance for Royal
The visitors couldn’t get past the 88 run-mark in both innings and let Josephians get to 203 in their first innings. Sri Lanka U19 Cap Wellalage shined with 70 with the bat and a match haul of 6 wickets with the ball.
Miranga Wickramage and Lakshan Gamage are the other bowlers who chipped with big scalps for the hosts in their way to the victory.

Isipathana College vs Royal College
The group A fixture between Royal and Isipathana College ended in favour of the Royalists at the Army Cricket Stadium in Dombagoda as Isipathana College was dismissed for 139 in their 2nd innings, assuring an innings and 22-run win for the Royal College.
Sri Lanka U19 Cap, Kamil Mishara led the batting front for Royal as he blasted a mammoth 158 to put his team in the hot seat while fresher, off spinner Prashan Kalhara finished off the Isipathana batsmen again with a brilliant spell of 6/30. Kalhara ended with a match haul of 12 wickets in their victory.
