Singer Sri Lanka PLC has made great strides to support Cricket in the country after agreeing on a lucrative three year sponsorship deal with the Sri Lanka School Cricket Association.
The sponsorship will extend to all tournaments organized by the SLSCA within the Under 15, 17 and 19 age group categories.
Speaking on the partnership Secretary of Sri Lanka Cricket, Mr. Nishantha Ranathunga said ‘We are happy to announce the partnership with Singer Sri Lanka which will last for three years. The Sri Lanka Schools Cricket Association will achieve their long term plans through this sponsorship eventually benefiting Sri Lanka Cricket as a whole. After all we must ensure the upliftment of the sport from the grass root levels.’
‘The future of Sri Lanka Cricket is laid using the foundations put down by Schools Cricket. I hope the partnership benefits extend to the rural schools.’ said Mr. Ashoka Peries who is currently the CEO of Singer Sri Lanka PLC. He also added that Singer has also contributed to the betterment of rural schools with many donations in the name of encouraging the sport in the country.
