Afridi has made an announcement on his official Twitter account, stating, “Unfortunately I have a personal emergency to attend to back home. I will return to join my team at LPL immediately after the situation is handled. All the best.”
According to reports, the reason for Afridi’s return to Pakistan is to attend to his daughter, who has been sick.

However, it is not clear whether Afridi will return to Sri Lanka again and will be able to play any matches afterwards.
His team Galle Gladiators are currently at the bottom of the table with 3 defeats in 3 matches, but Afridi has been in good form with the bat and ball in the LPL.
