New Zealand romped to the top of the ICC Twenty20 International team rankings with a 2-0 series win over Windies on Wednesday (January 3). The hosts won the third and final T20I by 119 runs and now have 126 points.
They went past Pakistan (124) and India (121) to take the top spot. Windies, after their poor performance, are now fifth on the table behind England. They lost five points in the series while New Zealand gained six.
New Zealand, though, need to win the T20I series against Pakistan 2-1 to cement their top spot when they play at home later this month.
South Africa, Australia and Sri Lanka hold the sixth, seventh and eighth spot respectively and are ahead of Afghanistan and Bangladesh in Top 10.
