Sebastianites Cricket Club defeated Negombo Cricket Club by 52 runs in the Sri Lanka Cricket Sara Trophy 2015/16 final concluded during the weekend at Moors grounds.
With this win, Sebastianites re-entered into the SLC Emerging Tournament 2015/16 after getting demoted last season. Sebs batting first were all out for just 179 runs with Harsha de Silva making the top score of 70 while Kalhan Sineth claimed 4 wickets.
The boys from Negombo was dismantled for 135 in their first innings with off-spinner Mohommad Feshal taking 6 wickets. Opener Shihan Dilasri and Malshan Gunasinghe scored 40 and 48 respectively.
The Sebastianites bettered their first innings score in the second essay as they managed 222 runs on the board. Harsha de Silva once again performed with the bat scoring 96 runs. Right-handed Hashan Gunathilake made a fighting half-century as well. Off-spinner Malshan Gunasinghe took a five-wicket haul.
Chasing 268 runs to win, Negombo CC fell 52 runs short. Promising right-hander Akeel Inham top-scored with a terrific 74. Marlon Madusanka was the chief wrecker taking 6 wickets for 100.
