The first round of the under 19 all island limited overs tournament 2014/15 is coming to an exciting end with only few games left. Trinity College, Mahanama College, Lumbini College, Ananda College, Richmond College and defending champions, Thurstan College have already booked their places in the pre-quarter finals.
Trinity College vs St. Thomas’ College, Matara
Hasitha Boyagoda’s fine all-round performance of 57 and 3 wickets enabled Trinity College to record a comfortable 126-run win over St. Thomas’ College, Matara in their match played at Asgiriya recently.
Trinity posted a competitive 256 with Hasitha Boyagoda top-scoring with 57 while Nushan Weerasinghe and Sanogeeth Shanmuganathan chipped in with 40 and 45 respectively. Vidath Jayasinghe, Osanda Champathi and Dileepa Tharaka shared 7 wickets amongst them. The Matara boys in reply were all out for only 130. Trinity defeated Rajasinghe MMV, Hanwella and De Mazenod College, Kandana in their earlier matches to make it 3 in 3.

Mahanama College vs Gurukula College
Thanula Wickramasinghe stared with both bat and ball as Mahanama College defeated Gurukula College by 93 runs in their match played at Surrey Village Ground, Maggona on Wednesday.
Mahanama made 242 for 8 in their allotted 50 overs and then they bowled out their opponents for only 149. Mahanama beat Mahinda College and St. Mary’s College, Kegalle in their previous outings to remain unbeaten in their group.

Lumbini College vs Kalutara Vidyalaya
Lumbini overpowered the boys from Kalutara by 132 runs in their match played at BRC grounds on Thursday.
Left-arm leg spinner Dayan Vimukthi took a four wicket haul and Jammika Darani stroked a match-winning 83 runs for Lumbini College. They defeated St. Benedict’s College and St. John’s College, Jaffna in their previous matches.

Kavishka Anjula’s magnificent 130 helped Ananda demolish St. Joseph Vaz’s team by 150 runs in their match played at Ananda Mawatha on Thursday.
Kavishka opened the batting and scored his knock of 130 in 115 balls with 16 fours and 3 sixes which propelled Ananda to a mammoth 324 before restricting the visitors for only 174. Earlier they beat Tissa MMV, Kalutara and St. Anthony’s College, Wattala to make their path to the knockout stage.

Dons easily outclassed the Sebs by 7 wickets in a one-sided affair at Wijerama Mawatha on Thursday.
Thimila Vidyasekara produced a good all-round performance of 3 wickets and 59 runs as the visitors were bundled out for only 119. The hosts comfortably chased down the target with 28 overs to spare.
