Thurstan College vs Prince of Wales College
Thurstan College put themselves in a strong position on the opening day of their inter school under 19 cricket tournament match against Prince of Wales College which commenced at the De Soysa Stadium in Moratuwa today.
The Thurstanites first produced an inspired bowling performance to skittle out the strong Cambrian batting line up for a paltry 122 runs with Ravisha Lokuge and Kavindu Kulasekera sharing three wickets each.
Prince of Wales star player and Sri Lanka youth cap Sanuka Dulaj was the only batsman to offer any kind of resistance as the rest of the batting collapsed against some accurate bowling.
Thurstan College then began to consolidate their position and finished the day at 137 for 4 having already built up a close first innings lead of 15 runs with six wickets still in hand.
