The Sri Lanka Schools Cricket Association is planning to resume schools Cricket from March 2021.

“SLSCA is yet to get the green light from the Ministry of Education for the idea and will seek written approval from the ministry within the coming week,” the President of the association, Mr. Thilak Waththuhewa confirmed to ThePapare.com.
If all goes well, the organizers plan to begin the tournament in the last week of March after the Ordinary Level examination.

It will be a One-Day tournament due to the lack of time, played in two tiers, Tier ‘A’ and ‘B’, consisting 18 teams in each tier.
“We will strictly adhere to all the COVID guidelines given by the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Education if the tournament is taking place. Our aim is to put this tournament together for the kids who are eagerly waiting to resume the sport they are passionate about,” Mr. Waththuhewa added.
The SLSCA is also hopeful about resuming Cricket for U15 and U17 as per their regular schedule in May.
