Chamod Dilshan scored a momentous hat-trick as Saunders SC polished off yet another comeback, this time against Super Sun SC defeating them by 3-2 coming from two goals behind, in their week 11 match in Dialog Champions League 2018 played at the Sugathadasa Stadium, Colombo.
Colombo ease past Matara
Colombo FC bounced back to winning ways with a 2-0..
Super Sun got off to a dream start as they found the ball back in the net twice within the first 5 minutes; the first through Afis Olayemi who calmly struck the ball back into the net after getting on the end of a perfectly timed cross by Oluwatosin Daniel, while Mohamed Fasan scored their second.
Fasan took the ball close dribbling past two players through the left before slotting it home from an extremely tight angle.
However, it did not take long for Saunders to strike back as they made things even by the 21st minute. It was Chamod Dilshan that scored both; the first after getting on the end of a delightful Suntharaj Niresh through ball, taking it into the box before rocketing it in past Mohamed Mubashir and the second a diving header from a cross from the right by Chryshantha Abeysekara.
Saunders maintained possession, but also looked threatening through counters while Super Sun predominantly resorted to a counter attacking approach, and a plethora of chances went down the drain at both ends of the pitch due to their poor finishing in the final third.
Mohamed Absal missed an open header for Super Sun while Saunders goalkeeper Asanka Viraj pulled off a brilliant save to deny Asanka de Silva who took a shot from point blank range.

Mohamed Naleem missed a facile opportunity at the other end of the pitch when he struck the ball wide with only Mubashir to beat off a Deneth Sankalpa through ball.
Super Sun almost got their lead back moments before the end of the first half when Absal found the ball at his feet inside the box, who controlled it through his first touch only to bash it over the bar.

Saunders missed another easy opportunity when Chamath Rashmith smashed wide, a cross by Chryshantha, from point blank range.
Both teams switched their gear to attacking mode in the dying minutes of the game creating several opportunities while Mubashir and Viraj pulled off some crucial saves at both ends of the pitch.
An Asanka through ball found Fasan all open in the box, but Viraj came off his line quickly and pulled off a brilliant save. Mubashir pulled off a good save at the other end of Niresh.
An exquisite Niresh through ball found Indrajewa Udara inside the box, who then did well to get the ball away from Mubashir who was off his line, only to thump the ball wide of the posts.
However, Saunders’ paladin of the night, Chamod Dilshan completed his hat-trick just before the final whistle through a calm finish from inside the box, completing their comeback.
