Doping in sports is one of the biggest burning issues in the modern concept of sport. The reported number of cases of anti-doping rule violations is extremely high and is on the rise.
The Board meeting and the workshop on result management of the South Asian Regional Anti-Doping Organisation (SARDO) was held on the 06th and the 07th of November at Hilton Colombo and was hosted by Sri Lanka Anti-Doping Agency (SLADA).
SLADA the sole local agent of World Anti-Doping Association (WADA) is affiliated to the Ministry of Sports and governs controls and regulates all aspects of doping related issues in the Island and is committed to promoting and upholding the concept of clean sport in Sri Lanka.
Sri Lanka holds the lead chair in the regional anti-doping bodies. This year’s SARDO Board meeting & workshop attracted officials from Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal & Sri Lanka with independent observers from around the world who also attended the event.
