Dambulla registered a 5-wicket win against Jaffna in one of the second week’s matches of National Super League 2023 which worked off today (29th January) at SSC Grounds, Colombo.
Dambulla needed just 45 runs with 6 wickets in hand to clinch the victory today as they ended the third day’s play at 154/4. They took only 11 overs to complete the chase losing only 1 wicket in the morning session on day four.
The overnight batters Sanoj Darshika and Ashan Priyanjan added only 19 runs today as the latter was bowled by the left-arm spinner Dilum Sudeera for just 12 runs.
Darshika was joined by Ranitha Liyanarachchi at the crease and the duo made sure they reach the target without any hiccups building an unbeaten 31-run stand for the 6th wicket.
Darshika was the top scorer for Dambulla as he stroked an unbeaten 60 runs off 112 balls with 4 fours and 2 sixes.
