Bandaranayke College VS Thurstan College
Sandaru Dias’s five-for helped Thurstan College take the upper hand on day 1 of their match against Bandaranayke College today at Thurstan grounds. The home side won the toss and opted to bowl first. Sandaru Dias’s left arm orthodox bowling was just too much to handle for the boys from Gampaha. Bandaranayke College were cleaned up for just 82 runs in 33.2 overs. Sandaru ended with figures of 5 for 11. Thurstan College in reply were troubled early on but a fiery knock by Sri Lanka U19 cap Charana Nanayakkara helped them post 191 for 8 in 28.5 overs before they declared their innings.

Movin Subasinghe’s 86 helped Wesley post 208 for their first innings in their traditional match against Trinity College at Asgiriya Stadium. Wesley won the toss and elected to bat first. Apart from Movin’s 86, Shamod Athulathmudali scored a valuable 55 for the Weslyites. Narendranath bagged 4 for 43 and Rashmika Thisaru took 3 wickets for 32 for the lions.
