Sri Lanka’s Samitha Dulan has won a Bronze medal at the ongoing World Para Athletics Championship 2023 in Paris, France.
The 33-year-old Dulan threw a distance of 64.06 meters in the finals of the Men’s Javelin Throw – F46 event to claim third place.

India’s Sumit Antil won the Gold medal with a throw of 70.83 meters which was good enough to secure him the World Record of the event.
Dulan became the third Sri Lankan to win a medal in World Para Athletics Championships. Before him, Pradeep Sanjaya and Dinesh Priyantha have won medals (twice) for Sri Lanka in World Para Athletics Championships.

In his maiden Paralympics, Dulan managed to win a Bronze medal for Sri Lanka at the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics event with a personal best of 65.61 meters.
