With the participation of over 18,000 athletes representing 2000 schools from 5 provinces, the Samaposha Provincial School Games are set to be held from the 21st of August.
The media briefing for this prestigious event was held at the Sri Lanka Foundation Institute in Colombo today (6th of August), with the participation of all sponsors and invitees.

The Director of Education (Physical Education and Sports) of the Ministry of Education, Atula Wijewardene thanked CBL Samaposha for stepping up as the main sponsor for this mega event, which aims to improve the skills of school children, promote their physical and mental well-being, and provide the strength they need to compete at the highest level in sports.
The games are to be held in 5 phases as follows:
- Phase I– Uva Province – Vincent Dias Stadium, Badulla – 21st to 24th of August
- Phase II – Southern Province -Koatawila Grounds, Matara – 27th to 30th of August
- Phase III – Eastern Province – Weber Stadium, Batticaloa – 5th to 9th of September
- Phase IV – North Western Province – Welagedara Stadium, Kurunegala – 7th to 11th of September
- Phase V – North Central Province – Public Stadium, Anuradhapura – 10th to 13th of September
