Moeen Ali will miss the upcoming three-match Twenty20 International (T20I) series against West Indies after being prescribed a period of rest ahead the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Moeen will return from the tour after the fifth and final ODI, at which point he will be replaced by fellow all-rounder Sam Curran. Like Ben Stokes and Jos Buttler (both Rajasthan Royals), Moeen will relax ahead of an IPL stint where he was retained by his franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore.
Curran also has a deal, with Kings XI Punjab, but has not played a part in the ongoing ODI series. The final match of the Caribbean tour is a Twenty20 on March 10 with the IPL beginning on March 23.
