USA Cricket has appointed former Sri Lanka First Class Cricketer Sajith Fernando as one of the members of the Men’s Youth Cricket selection panel.

In a media release from today, USA Cricket announced that Fernando will be part of 5-member selection panel for Youth Men’s Cricket headed by Amer Afzaludin. Former West Indian great Alvin Kallicharran is also part of the panel.
Apart from the Youth Men’s Cricket selection duties, Fernando will contribute to West Zonal selection duties too.

USA Cricket Operations Director Richard Done said, “Announcing our panels of Men’s Youth Selectors and Men’s Zonal Selectors is a significant stride forward on the path to developing a more comprehensive National Performance structure. We are incredibly lucky to have been able to appoint selectors to both sets of panels with real cricketing calibre right across the board. USA Cricket would like to congratulate all of those appointed and thank everyone for their commitment to advancing Cricket across the United States in the coming years.”
Fernando has played 193 First Class matches in Sri Lanka and asl held the duties as a Sri Lanka Men’s National selection committee member. In 2018, he was appointed as the Tournament Director for the 2018 SLC T20 League. Apart from the selection duties, he was a reputed coach as well.
