The Policemen will be using ‘maximum force’ this upcoming rugby season with their final hour signings that have boosted their squad strength by a large volume.

The returning sailors were offered a wager from the Police squadron to take up duties in the force to compile an emerging force in the Dialog Rugby league for the upcoming season.
Let’s take a look at the final transfer window to Police SC

Bilal Hassen – Navy to Police

The former Royal College and Navy #8 Bilal Hassen will be turning out in the Police colours this upcoming season having stayed for three lengthy seasons with the sailors. A mobile third row player, Bilal earned a reputation to be one of Sri Lanka’s prolific #8’s in the club rugby arena. Famed for his summer-slam that turned out be a trending vine on social media, Bilal will be hoping to keep his tackles clean and tidy when he starts in the #8 jersey for the Policemen.

Achala Perera – Navy to Police

The boisterous front row from the hills of Kandy will be the newest inclusion in the Police squad switching over Navy. A first choice for Hooker in the national squad, Achala played an integral part in the triumphant Tuskers outfit that toured Philippines for the Asia 5 Nations tournament.

Perera who earlier played for CH & FC made his switch to the Sailors in the year 2011 and now will be a part of the Police cavalry this upcoming season.

Chamara Dabare

The former Royalist will leave the docks to come back to the forces with a new contract signed with the Policemen. The ‘Lasith Malinga’ look alike with his whimsical hair, was Havelock’s danger man who took them near a league title in the year 2013. A regular in the Tuskers squad, Dabare got the opportunity of representing the country in the Under 20 Junior ASIAD in 2009 and 2010. Representing the country in both sevens and XV’s will be Dabare’s greatest accomplishment, as he tends to be an unbeatable force with his pace.

It will be interesting to catch at what Dabare could bring in to the Police side that look to play a pacey game this season.

Terence Henry

The one time league winning former Weslyite will be Police’s value addition this year playing in the front row. Henry who captained the Havelocks Sports Club side in the year 2013 took them to a memorable feat of a league title victory defying the 12 year Kandyan legacy. Henry’s jubilant Havelocks side brought in a new flair to the club rugby field that was on the decline and he is currently with the Police side after a short stint with Sailors last season.

Rizah Mubarak

The veteran player in the national circuit, Rizah Mubarak will be also wearing the Police jersey this season having made his mark in the rugby arena in the country. The former Isipathana three-quarter player saw himself making his way in to professional rugby in the CR & FC jersey in the year 2006.  One of Sri Lanka’s best fullbacks, Rizah earned his national colours in the year 2008 for the Asia 5 Nations under the captaincy of Dushanth Leuke.

Since his entry to the national side in 2008, Mubarak has continued to climb the ladder of success and seven years forward; he was Sri Lanka’s first choice for fullback in the recently concluded Asia 5 Nations tournament that was held in the Philippines. Mubarak crossed over from the Reds to play a stint for the Sailors and will turn out for Police this season.

Sharo Fernando

The former Peterite is the final addition to the Police squad from the Sailors list. Fernando was a remarkable success coming out as a unstoppable three quarter back in the school jersey and going on to prove his worth in the club format wearing the Havelocks jersey.
