Bhutan outclassed Sri Lanka in their group B encounter by 5 goals to 1 in a dominant fashion.
Bhutan opened their account in the 14th minute of the game through a header from Karma Thabke. The Bhutan outfit scored another goal right before the stroke of halftime to double their advantage.
Starting the 2nd half dominantly Bhutan were dominating all aspects of the game giving no chance to the Sri Lankans to come back into the game.
Zaid Ifham scored Sri Lanka’s only goal of the game in the 65th minute. However, after the goal, the islanders showed no improvement or threat on the pitch.
The Bhutanese managed to sneak in three more goals in the second half to make the scoreline 5 goals to 1 at full-time.
Sri Lanka will face Nepal on September 23rd in their second game of the tournament.
