The S.Thomas’ College administration has appointed Christian De Lile as their Captain for the 2018 Schools’ Rugby season.

The outstanding flanker/Number eight is a third year coloursman who has been handed the privilege of leading the 2018 S.Thomas’ College Rugby team in his fourth and final year for the upcoming schools’ season.

De Lile, who is mostly known as ‘CJ’ is undoubtedly the most experienced campaigner in the 2018 S.Thomas’ College outfit. He represented the Junior Tuskers at the U18 Sevens Tournament in Chinese Taipei and Hong Kong in 2016 and at the Junior Commonwealth games in Bahamas which was held last year.

Harith Senanayake and Adeesha HandunpathCJ is well-known for his ability of tackling, winning turnovers for his side and his running game of rugby. Along with Harith Senanayake and Adeesha Handunpath as his deputies, the gritty brigade will look to march their troops forward to get back on top.

Talking to ThePapare.com the newly appointed Captain added these words,

“I’m proud and honoured to lead our team for the 2018 season, and I’d love nothing else more. We have a young side, which means we’ll have to work harder than all the other teams. But I know for sure that we’ll do great”

S. Thomas’ College finished at 7th place last year after being runners-up in 2016, which upset the Thomian rugby fraternity. However, De Lile and his team will aim at the league title this year around.
