40 Sri Lankan cricketers have reportedly been selected to receive the first jab of Russia’s Sputnik V Covid 19 vaccine.
18 players were vaccinated on Sunday (09th May) and the rest are expected to be vaccinated within this week.
All players went through an antigen test prior to the administration of the vaccine. The vaccination program was initially scheduled to be performed prior to the West Indies tour but was postponed.
The 18-member Sri Lanka ODI squad to tour Bangladesh entered into a bio-bubble yesterday (10th May) at the Taj Samudra Hotel in Colombo and they commenced their practices today (11th May) at R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium.
The team is scheduled to depart to Bangladesh on the 16th May where they will play 3 ODIs in Dhaka commencing from 23rd May.
