The National Sports Festival is the biggest sporting event in the country that features over 29 sporting disciplines and the participation of nearly five thousand athletes, across the country. The Rugby Sevens tournament is set to take place this weekend at the Racecourse Rugby Stadium.

9 teams representing their respective provinces will battle it out for the Gold, Silver and Bronze medals at the 44th National Sports Festival 2018, which is scheduled to be worked off on the 23rd and 24th of this month at the Racecourse Stadium.

Each province will field a Men’s and Women’s team, where they will be categorized into two groups and implement the usual Sevens tournament structure. The group stage matches will be played on Day 1 (23rd June) and progress to the quarterfinal games on the second and final day.

This will be a grand opportunity for new players to showcase their talent and make it to the big stage.

The organizing committee invites the fans to come cheer for their team and support the upcoming players. Matches will kick off from 8.30 a.m. onwards on both days.
